Lisa Lord - Pre-school Teacher

My name is Lisa Lord. I graduated from Mccreary Central high school in 2012. I am a 2016 graduate of University of the Cumberlands, where I earned a bachelors degree in human services. At UC, I was involved in BCM, Baptist campus ministries, where we served during the summer and did summer vbs for children in the community.  Fresh out of college I accepted a job at Cumberland River Behavioral Health. I worked in various roles during my time there. I worked as a crisis tech at Turning Point, a children’s crisis stabilization unit. I worked with all ages for behavior issues. I worked as a job coach for adults, and most recently a CFI, certified family interventionist, at Corbin High school. I worked with High school students in a counseling setting daily in order to meet their personal, behavioral, and academic goals. I returned to teaching my original passion at restoration Christian academy in January 2020.

Kelli Barnes - Teacher

I graduated Lynn Camp High School in 2003. I began taking my general education courses at Eastern Kentucky University. Being a teacher was something I had dreamed of since I was in the 4th grade.  I am a 2009 cumlaude graduate of Union College, earning my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education. Soon after graduation, I took a position as an early Head Start teacher with KCEOC. Preschool soon became a passion - I didn’t know I had within me.  After a year with the agency, I expanded my education and earned my Child Development Associate, also taking many trainings and classes yearly, to enhance my ability to better educate small children. This past year, God opened up yet another door for me to return to education. I began the position of the primary teacher at Restoration Christian Academy. While the spring semester was short lived – due to Covid-19, I am so excited to see what’s in store for the 2020/2021 school year! I’m thankful for a calling to serve others, especially in education. I had wonderful teachers in my life and I want to be a wonderful teacher for someone too!

Wes Williamson - Teacher

I graduated at the top of my class from Whitley County High School in 1983. Soon after high school, I entered Cumberland College. I received a bachelor's degree in Education in the Spring of 1988. I worked with disabled adults as a respite provider for Cumberland River Comp Care. In 1990, I became a respite provider for the Ky Impact Program, which serves children with emotional and behavioral issues. During that time, I was responsible for mentoring those children by taking them out into the community and teaching them appropriate social skills. I also worked in the school with those same children, assisting the teachers with one on one assistance.      In 1991, I obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Cumberland College and moved into the position of Case Management for the Ky Impact Program at Cumberland River. Duties included setting up team meetings, coordinating all services in relation to school, therapist, doctors, and psychiatrist.  I  was instrumental in helping design the first after school program for SED children in the area.Coming from the foster care system, even at an early age, I helped my mother foster over 100 foster kids, from cooking meals to helping with homework and babysitting.      For the past three years, I have coached boys and girls basketball  for the Corbin Rec. Center. This past year, I was blessed to see my ministry flourish as I have taught at Restoration Academy and orchestrated the development of Operation Share here at Restoration Ministries.  I can’t wait to get this new school year started!
